This Privacy Policy explains how the YouTube Timestamps Chrome extension (“the Extension”) handles information when you use it to save, label, organize, and revisit moments in YouTube videos.
1. Information the Extension handles
When you use the Extension, it may process the information needed to provide its timestamp-bookmarking features, such as:
- YouTube video URL or video identifier, so a saved moment can be associated with the correct video;
- timestamp or playback position that you choose to save;
- custom labels you enter for saved moments; and
- saved timestamp entries and history created through your use of the Extension.
These details may reveal which videos you choose to bookmark. The Extension should access them only to provide its stated functionality.
2. Where information is stored
Saved entries are stored in browser storage on your device, if the Extension is configured to use local browser storage. The Extension does not require you to create an account or provide your name, email address, password, payment information, or precise location.
You can remove saved entries using any deletion controls provided by the Extension. Removing the Extension or clearing its browser storage may also remove locally stored entries.
3. Data sharing and sale
The Extension developer does not sell users’ saved timestamp data. The Extension is not intended to transmit saved timestamps, labels, or video history to the developer or to third parties. If a future version adds analytics, synchronization, accounts, or other data-sharing features, this policy will be updated before those practices begin.
4. Website access
The Extension interacts with YouTube pages only as needed to identify the relevant video and support saving or revisiting timestamps. It is not intended to collect general browsing history or monitor activity on unrelated websites.
5. Security and retention
Because saved entries are intended to remain in browser storage, their retention depends on your browser, device, and Extension settings. Keep your browser and device secured. No method of electronic storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
6. Children’s privacy
The Extension is a general-purpose utility and does not knowingly ask children to provide personal information. It does not require an account or direct submission of personal details.
7. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when the Extension’s functionality or data practices change. The “Last updated” date above will be revised when a new version is published.
8. Contact
For privacy questions or requests, contact the Extension developer through the support contact listed on the YouTube Timestamps Chrome Web Store listing.
